What is home care? 

Home care provides support to help people live safely and independently in their own homes. It can include personal care (like showering and dressing), help around the home (such as cleaning, cooking, or shopping), companionship, and specialised care like dementia or palliative support.

Who can receive support from HealthCare NZ?

Anyone who needs help to live safely and independently at home — including older adults, people with disabilities, and those recovering from injury or illness.

Is funding available?

Yes. We work with NASC, ACC, and other agencies to arrange funded care. You can also choose to pay privately for additional or flexible services.

Can I choose my Support Worker?


Where possible, yes. We aim to match you with a Support Worker who suits your needs, preferences, and communication style.

How do I get started?


You can contact us directly, speak to your GP, or ask your NASC or ACC case manager to refer you to HealthCare NZ. We’ll take care of the rest.
